Friends of GPL
The Friends of the Greensboro Public Library is an organization of people dedicated to supporting the mission of the public library. We help the library serve our community by providing additional money for programs and volunteers to help make the programs successful.
Our sponsorship makes possible:
- One City, One Book, a community-wide read.
- PoetryGSO, an annual festival in April.
- Summer Reading Incentives for students,
- Many other programs enjoyed by all members of our community.
The Friends operate a bookstore and coffee shop at the Central Library, which offers a comfortable spot to rest, have a snack, and browse a large collection of used books at bargain prices.
Friends nurture the relationship between Greensboro's excellent library system and the Greensboro and Guilford County people it serves.
